When I was six years old I approached my parents and stated that I wanted to play in the PGA. At first, they were pretty confused since neither of them played golf, but they were willing to support me, and soon after I received my first set of golf clubs. I began my golf career by participating in the first tee program, and soon after I began going to the local range for a few hours almost every day. I fell in love with the sport, and it quickly became my passion. I began to participate in the U.S. Kids Junior Tournaments at age seven, and I continued to play in these tournaments for around 4 years. I won many tournaments and series. As I continued to progress my skills within the sport of golf, I quickly decided that I wanted to take my game to the next level. As a result, I began working with a private coach at the Reserve at Spanos Park, and I am still currently working with him to this day.
One thing I have learned throughout my time playing the game of golf is that: golf is a game of physical capability, as well as mental fortitude and focus. The game of golf has not only helped me grow as a person, but also taught me respect for both the things in life and the traditions and rules of the game. I currently play from the college tee boxes. I continue to work on the mechanical and mental aspects of my game. My current goal is to be a scratch golfer before I enter my junior year of high school. With my current coach's mentorship and guidance, I believe I am on track to meet this goal. I learned at an early age the values of teamwork, honesty, gentlemen behavior, and foremost how to play the game with integrity. Throughout my time in school, I have learned that I am able to process information quickly, which has made it easy for me to succeed in my studies and maintain straight A’s. With that said, golf has never come easy to me and has always been one of the biggest challenges in my life. I am dedicated and have a very high work ethic, as I spend 25 hours per week either playing 18 or working on iron, wedges, and putting skills. However, I am grateful that this sport has challenged me because it has taught me the value of hard work, and kept me striving to better myself.
