Hi, I’m Dillon Kim, and to me, golf is more than just having an excellent swing. To me, golf is my life and my passion. Golf is the love of my life, and it makes me truly happy. Golf has taught me many valuable life lessons like how to challenge myself and work hard through every obstacle I encounter. I apply this not only in golf, but also in life. Whenever I shoot a score that I am not happy with, I make sure to fix my mistakes and improve my skills, whether it be my technique, course management, or temperament. I play SCPGA, AJGA, and Future Champion tournaments. I am respectful and well-tempered on and off the course.
It all started when my parents introduced me to golf lessons at the age of 5, because they themselves love the sport dearly. Golf has always been with me since the beginning. Being the athletic person that I am, I played soccer, basketball, and water polo. I wanted to make sure that golf is the sport I wanted to dedicate my life to. By the age of 10, I knew golf is my forever love. I then trained professional with a KPGA professional in ball striking, putting and playing strategically on the course. I started competing at the age of 13. I am a very hard worker and mentally prepared myself as well as train my physical endurance along with numerous golf lessons. My competition game improved as I learned to manage the course and improve my golf skills. I went from hitting 90s to going under par. I dedicated my Sophomore summer to makIng sure I qualify a spot in Toyota Tour Cup. I was the champion of four SCPGA tournaments and secured a position as 4th overall in the points race to earn my spot in TTC .
I am a starter in my high school’s varsity golf team since freshman year. I earn an average of 3.6 GPA. As a junior, I am taking AP courses . I am the type of person who will always do my best to improve in all aspects.
I will continue to strive for the best in golf and do my best to reach my fullest potential. I look forward to playing golf in college.
