I took up the game of golf around 3-4 years back around 8th grade year. I was willing to pursue the sport because i had such a passion for it being an individual sport, i gave up Basketball, Baseball, and Football freshman year to become the best golfer i could. I have grown into a strong individual with mistakes in my life, as well as the loss of friends and family and have learned to not take anything for granted. I picked up the sport of golf out of curiosity, and as well as because one of my good friends played and a few others that played for fun. They always invited me out to play at our local course, so I decided to get some attire and a set and go out and play one day. It led me down a path of hardwork and dedication, i invested my life into baseball and basketball as a child so it was tough to give them up. I have learned to trust and believe in myself whilst playing the sport of Golf, never to give up, and to keep my head up with confidence. Golf is all about staying calm and collected, the angrier you begin on yourself the worse you seem to play is what i have realized. I have had countless amounts of 4-5 hour days at the golf course because i love the environment, and i love the aspect of perfecting the game and improving.
I am hoping to end senior year with a 3.75 or above, i am pushing myself to be awarded an academic letter this year. I plan to continue being a mainly A and strong B student in college as well because educational grades at that level are very important. I definitley have overcome some obstacles stopping me from where i am today, injuries especially, not qualifying for big tournaments i have deserved to play in and etc. But pursuing and getting better have led to the hard worker i am today, and the confidence i have in my self to succeed and become even better. I love golfing, i love being on the course, i love being at the practice facility, you will never see me lacking or not practicing and or trying to improve. Something about perfecting my swing and shooting better and better scores everyday keeps me going and the brotherhood i build with my teammates. I am looking for a coach to use my talents, a coach who i am trustworthy of and a group of guys who i can look to and succeed with.
