Sam Schouten '21 Recruiting Profile

My name is Sam Schouten and I am a junior at Cherry Creek High School in Colorado. I have been playing the game of golf since I was 4 years old. I am 6'2" and 170 lbs. I would like to play and participate in college golf because I believe that the experience will not just make me a better player but will make me a better person overall. My experiences on the golf course through the different levels of golf have taught me different qualities on and off the course. Qualities I like to have and bring to my team and coaches is a positive environment and not a negative one and I like to bring good sportsmanship as well.  When I'm on the golf course, when I have a bad hole, its just one hole and I just forget about it and move on. During my golf season I practice 5 days a week and play in 2 league meets a wee,  and I try to do things on the weekends like workout or work more on my game. I have two desired majors, my number one is going into PGA Management and then going into the medical field. My Desired goals for college golf is to be able to play during the season and I want to travel and play in tournaments, and I know that academics is important too in college, and I try my best in high school to maintain my school work while I also maintain my golf and play my best. A college that I think would best fit my needs as a golfer and a student would be a smaller school and Division  II or III. Something very important to me is playing on a team which I hope to achieve and continue to work for. I hope this information above will help you understand me a person and an athlete. Thank you
