January 2019 Personal Statement
Hello, my name is Michael Dolce and I am a senior at St. Paul Catholic High School in Bristol, Connecticut. I currently hold a weighted 4.0 GPA, and was inducted into the National Honor Society and the National Italian Honor Society in 2018. I am currently taking a very competitive course load with several honors classes and four AP classes .
My father and grandfather taught me the game when I was young and I have enjoyed playing in several junior golf programs and leagues. When I was about thirteen years old, I started to play golf competitively. As a high school player, I have been consistently playing at one of the top varsity spots on the team. I co-medaled in the 2019 Connecticut Division Four State Tournament. I was All-State, All-Conference and All-Area in 2019. Also, I have earned spots on my conference's all-division team and all-area team for my freshmen and sophomore seasons. I won my country club's, Chippannee junior championship in July. I am the captain of my high school varsity golf team, both junior and senior year.
In my spare time, I enjoy running, including running indoor track for two years. I play chess competitively, recently winning a Scholastic Chess Tournament in the Fall. Also, I frequently volunteer in the community and tutor younger students.
