I have Covid to thank for golf. I first picked up a golf club at the start of lockdown on March 10th of 2020. That was the day my dad drove me and my brother to Chambers Bay about 90 minutes from our house. It was a very cold welcome to the game.

I never really enjoyed being bad at things, so I took upon myself to get better. Over the summer of 2021, I practiced tirelessly on the University of Washington public driving range, ten minutes from my house. Watching Youtube swing videos and hitting buckets upon buckets of balls, I was beginning to see progress. As I improved, so did my enjoyment for the game. I had the bug.

I aspire to play golf in college and I feel like I am just scratching the surface of my potential. I am eager to be a part of a golf program in which the coaches and players will nurture me into a better person and player.

Outside of golf, I am the varsity soccer captain at Hotchkiss, and enjoy chemistry, economics, photography and fly fishing. I have always enjoyed being in the outdoors, so I am thankful that both my athletic and academic endeavors allow me to do so. I am passionate about animals and medicine, and am interested in how they overlap.
