Winter temperatures in CT the past few off seasons have been anywhere from single digits to the 40s. 40s if I am lucky. I am playing. I am practicing. It is not easy to put a tee in the frozen ground. The wind chill off Long Island Sound can be brutal. But I don’t care because I am passionate about this game and I want to play golf at a collegiate level.
I believe golf is one of the ultimate sports. It takes physical skill and mental toughness. It is a calm yet intense game. I am fairly new to golf and have grown rapidly in this sport over the last few years. I gave up baseball the summer of 8th grade and began to play golf and quickly developed a love for the game. I have gone from shooting scores in the 100s to 90s to 80s and now 70s to a best round of 66 at Madison Country Club last year. I know this is only the beginning. I will continue to develop and strengthen my game rapidly. I will do this through hard work and practice by myself and with my coach. I will continue to be diligent and play the game constantly. I will push my golf and fitness routine leading up to my junior year golf season and beyond. Whenever and however I can, I search for ways I can improve my game. I plan on carrying this trait with me for the rest of my life with everything I do. I am not one who settles and know I can always improve no matter how well or poorly I play on any given day.
I am taking my freshman year of college at Saint Michael's College. I am now in the transfer portal and looking for a better fit. My ideal college would be one that allows me to play competitive golf and focus on a business administration major, with a focus on marketing or finance. I take AP courses and I have a strong GPA. I am involved in my community and school in a positive and volunteering way. I hope to find a college which will allow me to grow as a golfer and also prepare me to be a leader in the business world after school.
