I am a junior at Conard High School in West Hartford Connecticut. I first started playing golf when I was 8 years old. I grew to love the game very quickly. When I was 11, I started playing in local 9-hole tournaments during the summer. When I was 13 years old, I ended up winning my first tournament. And at 14, I won again. That same year, I was awarded the Sportsman of the Year. In my freshman year at Conard, I acquired my varsity letter and as a junior, I was selected by my coach to be a co-captain. My lowest round is 71 at Wethersfield Country Club in Wethersfield Connecticut. I have been a member of the Connecticut Jr. PGA for 3 years.
I pride myself on keeping good grades. As both a freshman and a sophomore, I earned not only Maximum Honors but also the Central Connecticut Conference All-Academic Team for golf. Both years I also earned the Conard High School Outstanding Academic Achievement Award. As a sophomore, I was inducted into the Societal Honoraria Hispánica.
I have been a member of the Conard High School Base Choir freshman and sophomore years and Chorale Cantare my junior year. I plan on continuing in Chorale Cantare during my senior year as well. I have also played basketball for the town league since I was 8 years old. I broke my arm (for the second time) in February when I was in 7th grade. I loved playing baseball as well. When this happened, I was told by the doctor that I couldn't play baseball for that season. So I turned to golf and really worked on my game.
My grandfather had a really big role in my getting interested in golf. He was a scratch golfer. As I started getting more and more interested, my grandfather became ill with Alzheimer's. He passed away in 2011 and that's when I found a love for the game and I wanted to emulate him.
