As an athlete who changed from soccer to golf, I’ve learned a lot about hard work and how you have to earn what you want. Both of these sports throughout my life are a part of my identity that have shaped me both mentally and physically. Growing up with English parents, I was pushed hard when it came to soccer or football as they call it. Once I reached the age of 15, my aspirations for soccer faded away and I solely focused on golf after noticing my natural talent for the sport. My desire to become a collegiate golfer grew as I saw massive improvement at a rapid rate. Through playing golf, I have realized that it is a discipline that requires dedication and perseverance. Golf has taught me patience and resilience that help me not just on the course but in the classroom as well.
Academically, I am very committed to my studies. I value my grades just as much as golf, which is evident in my grades and scores. The hard work that I’ve learned throughout growing up is applied in the classroom and on the golf course. I believe that the challenging level of classes I have taken will help me balance the tough expectations required by a college athlete.
Being recruited is a dream that I have set to motivate me throughout my life. I am interested in the opportunity to play at a higher level but also excited to be a part of a community that shares the same passion as me. The one thing I miss about soccer is the team aspect of it, which is why I have such a drive to play collegiate golf. I am eager to contribute my skills, work ethic, and positive attitude to the success of your team.
