I have always been involved in multiple sports and was playing baseball at an elite level. I began playing golf a little over 3 years ago and I absolutely fell in love with the game. I started playing when my family moved out to Hawaii for a couple of years and it just so happened that we had a golf course in our back yard. During the day, I would practice my game for hours on hours and found I really enjoy it. I then decided that golf was all I wanted to focus on, giving up all the other sports. I have had to push myself in the past few years to get better in order to catch up to some of the players that have been playing for longer than I have, and I believe that is one of the main obstacles I have done a good job overcoming.
In this game I have learned how mentally tough I am when it comes to work ethic and putting in the hours it takes to be successful. I have also learned how quickly I can pick up tips and advice and apply it to my game, which is very helpful when playing in competition. In my few years of playing golf, I have had a lot of really good older people to look up to and be mentored by, and have them guide me in the right direction. My collegiate goals for academics, is to be top in my class and graduate with a good degree that can get me far in life. As for my athletic goals I would like to pursue golf and be the best golfer I can be and see where that takes me.
