Dear Coach,
My name is Nicolas Cavero, I am from Venezuela and I am in the class of 2012. I moved to Miami, Florida at the beginning of the 2010 summer to work hard and better on my game and get fully prepared for an All American College Golf Career while finishing my last two years of school at Ronald Reagan Doral Senior High School.
My vision is to play for you and your team in order to continue developing my game and get it ready to have an outstanding and dominating Professional Career on the PGA Tour. I want to win the grand slam of golf and become the best player in the world; this is what fuels me to deep practice every day and work hard at the gym 6 times a week. This is my dream and I know I will make it a reality.
I realized that by playing and practicing back home in Valencia, Venezuela I wasn’t going to accomplish my goals and dreams as a golfer, and when I moved to Florida I knew that I had some serious catch up to do. I’m not going to sell myself based on an impressive past resume but instead I will use my present! I am getting better and better each day and a few signs along the way have shown me that I am heading in the right direction. This year I have won three South Florida PGA Junior Tournaments with scores of 71-69 (-2), 68-72 (-4). My short game has improved tremendously over that last year, I am much stronger and have gained good distance with my golf specific workouts and I feel that my understanding for the game, the fundamentals and my swing has grown a lot this year. Recently my coach caddied for me in the US Amateur Qualifier at the Blue Monster at Doral, in spite of shooting 75 -74 in windy conditions, I learned so much about course management and mental focus with him on my bag that I am sure I will improve and benefit from this great experience. I will continue working very diligently at the Gym and also at School where I have a 3.5 GPA with 4 honor classes.
I am sure that I will continue improving and will develop into an All American level player who will help you win the NCAA National Championship.
My will to be the best has no boundaries; it was perceived and well supported by my parents who are doing many sacrifices for me, which I couldn’t be more grateful for, and my next step in my Golf development process is to prove to you that your team will benefit from my playing ability, my hard work ethic and my leadership.
