There are many reasons I am a good candidate for your team. I have had a very diverse, well rounded and unique upbringing. I come from a very traditional, culturally enriched, faithful, close knit family. But the main reason that I am a good candidate for you team is my organic passion for the game of golf.
I was raised in a family where sports were not an interest. I have come into the game of golf untraditionally. I had to find the game and passion all on my own with little understanding or support from my family. My golf journey began at the age of 13. I picked it up the summer between middle school and high school and learned the basic fundamentals of the game on my own. Players and coaches alike told me that I had a natural swing and talent for the game. I tried out for my high school team with no previous exposure to competitive golf and amazingly, lettered my freshman year.
What sets me apart from every other recruit is the fact that I am a dedicated and extremely loyal person. I love to devote my time to help others, especially my family, friends and teammates. I volunteer with The First Tee program, at my church as an alter server, and am very involved in my Portuguese culture.
My dream is to play on a collegiate golf team, to take my love of the game combined with academic knowledge and grow it into a lifelong career in the golf industry.
