At a very early age I was introduced to the game of golf by my father, and started competing at 5 ½ years old. I am grateful to have played a sport that has taught me many lessons that I can apply to other aspects of my life, especially academics. Golf has taught me that in order to succeed, there are three values that have helped me excel, and those are hard work ethic, patience & perseverance. These values have helped me reach many of my personal goals in junior golf competition, which include competing at a high level in several junior circuits like South Florida Junior PGA, Florida Junior Tour (FSGA), IMG, US Kids (Local, State, Regional & World Championships), AJGA, and First Tee.
Currently, I am entering my junior year of high school at Christopher Columbus H.S. in Miami, FL where I’ve not only excelled in golf, but also academically; maintaining a weighted GPA of 3.98. As a direct reflection of my hard work in school, I received academic achievement honors and became a member of the Nation Society of High School Scholars. In addition to that, I am also proud to have made the varsity team since my freshmen year, as well as, earning two year letterman.
There have been many challenges with the Covid-19 pandemic over the last year and a half, but I have learned to push through the setbacks of not having the ability to practice and compete like I was use to. Parts of my game suffered, and I wasn’t playing to the best of my ability. Throughout that time, I focused on personal fitness and practicing with purpose on my technique and mental game. I love this game, and my overall goal is to play college golf. Given the opportunity, I will work hard to contribute to the success of my team and school.
