Nick Vives '19 Recruiting Profile

My name is Nicolas Vives and I am currently on the Varsity Golf Team at Christopher Columbus High School in Miami, Florida. Christopher Columbus High School is consistently ranked among the top golf high school programs in the state of Florida. I started playing golf just a little over two years ago. Within that time, I went from playing on the JV team and shooting in the 100’s to currently playing on the Varsity Team and shooting between the mid-80’s to the upper 70’s. The reason how I progressed so quickly was because I dedicated over 25 hours a week to improve my game, attended golf clinics in Arizona, and participated in the JGA-Broward Summer League Tournaments. My goal in college is to play on a team, where I will make immediate impact and ultimately become the number one spot on the team. I view these goals as very realistic because of my dedication and the rapid golf progression I’ve made within just two years. My current overall weighted GPA of a 4.13-unweighted GPA is 3.3, core GPA 3.53 and SAT score of 1280. Along with my pursuit of playing at the college level, I am looking for a school that offers strong academic with an emphasis in Physical therapy.The qualities of my ability to focus and achieve my goals, I believe will make me an asset to both the golf program and the school at a DII, DIII or NAIA level.
