Personal Statement

Hello Coach,

My name is Jack Wehle, I am in the graduating class of 2020. I just recently moved to Naples, Florida from Hopkinton, Massachusetts. In previous years I went to Hopkinton High School and am now attending Gulf Coast High School. For both teams I was very successful and considered a leader on my team. In Massachusetts my team and I won the 2017 D2 state championship and in Florida my team and I placed second in the 3A state championship. I currently have a 3.18 GPA and aspire to play collegiate golf.  I am a relatively new golfer as I just started playing in my freshman year of high school.  I'm a 3 sport high school athlete who also loves basketball and baseball, but found my passion when I picked up golf clubs. Now that I am in Naples, Florida, and can golf year round,  I will be focusing full time on my golf game.  I know that I have not reached my potential yet, but am working hard everyday to learn and grow!

Events

  • Camp/Event
  • US Challenge Cup Dale Smith Junior
  • 6/19/19 to 6/20/19
  • This past week I played in the Dale Smith Junior. The first day was a little chilly but found myself T-2 overall after shooting an even par 71 at Connecticut National. The second day was 60 degrees and raining all day. This made it hard to score but, I ended up shooting a +4 76 to finish T-5.
  • Camp/Event
  • Saddlebrook Junior Open
  • 1/19/19 to 1/20/19
  • I finished in third place shooting 75-79. On day 2 winds were blowing up to 30 MPH which made me realize how important it is to flight your golf ball in different ways.
  • Camp/Event
  • College Golf Camps
  • 12/15/18 to 12/16/18
  • I'm looking forward to my first college golf camp this month! I'm excited to meet new coaches and learn more about being a collegiate golfer.
  • Camp/Event
  • Tampa Junior Open
  • Played well on day 1 but struggled on day 2. Finished in the top 5 shooting 72-78
  • Camp/Event
  • FJT at Rotonda GC
  • Played solid overall for the two days but had 1 bad hole on each day making a triple day 1 and a quad on day 2 on my first hole. 78-74 for a T-10 finish.
  • Camp/Event
  • Florida State Am Qualifier
  • The Florida State Am Qualifier was a great experience for me going up against some elite college players and amateurs. Although I didn't play my best, I finished T-11 out of 36th players shooting a 78. I was proud of my performance because I beat many successful college players that day without having my best stuff.
