September 2018Personal Statement
My name is Trey Tesiero. I am a 17 year old rising high school senior living in Saint Johns, Florida. My average swing speed is 117 mph.
I started sports as a swimmer and left handed pitcher. At age 11, I began playing competitive golf. Most recently I have been playing Hurricane Tour events, FCWT, and USGA/AJGA qualifiers. I have three top five finishes this year, including two awards for low final round from the FCWT (74 on both occasions).
Last summer I enrolled at the Tom Burnett Academy in Saint Johns, Florida, where I am continuing my work for the 2019-20 school year. Tom is well known for coaching, among other successful golfers, a Players’ Champion and a Ryder Cup Vice Captain. Under Tom’s guidance my short game has improved dramatically, and after making some grip, swing and equipment changes I am seeing lower scores.
On the academic side, I am enrolled in my fourth year of the Cyber Security Academy at Creekside High School. Having competed in sports almost my entire life, I enjoy trying to outsmart my opponent. My goal is to attend a school with a strong cyber program.
I will work hard for whatever school I play for and will push my teammates to get better. I would enjoy the opportunity to talk with you about what I can do for your program. Thank you.
