My name is Eli Hancock, and I attend Madison County High School located in Danielsville, Georgia. I have played golf for three years now and have played competitively for two. In that short time, I have made exponential strides towards developing both my physical and mental game. Having that experience gap has allowed me to find attributes of my game that need the most work and establish a plan that improves those specific parts in order to see a steady decrease in my scores. Throughout that time, I have been able to lower my scoring average to 76.8 which is far from what I plan on averaging after this year's junior season. My personal low so far in my journey is 69, which is much closer to the average I plan on obtaining in the future. This spring and summer I plan to compete in many more tournaments and take my game to another level once more. I am currently taking AP Statistics and I have already completed 4 other AP courses, all in which I have received credit for through the college board tests. This is in addition to a number of honors courses. I am a member of the National Honor Society, and I have been able to maintain an unweighted 4.0 GPA throughout my freshman, sophomore, and junior year and into my senior year. I play varsity basketball for my high school, and have been a part of the basketball program since my freshman year. I was a pitcher for our high school’s baseball team my freshman year, but decided to follow my passion for golf my sophomore year, earning the number 2 spot on our varsity golf team. I will continue into my senior golf season playing the number two seed. I am involved in a variety of school and community organizations, serving as a huddle leader in Fellowship of Christian Athletes and playing a strong role in the youth program at my church. I feel like my work ethic and leadership skills set me apart from others and allow me to be a positive influence for my team and those around me. I am excited about where my work ethic and motivation have taken me in both my academics and sports so far, but even more excited to see where my hard work and determination will take me in the near and distant future.
