Wheeler Ryan '24 Recruiting Profile

I played team sports (baseball, football, and basketball) before I started playing golf at age 13.  I believe playing those sports gave me a good foundation for understanding how to play on a team and to accept coaching.  I am also highly competitive and I enjoy the individual aspect of playing golf.  I have always had a strong work ethic and I am strongly personally motivated to practice my game.  My typical schedule is to be at the course after school and on the weekends five to six days per week.  I have never required anyone else, such as parents, to push me to practice and work on my game.  It is something that I motivate myself to do.  I enjoy the process of practice and preparation almost as much as tournament play.  In tournaments, I am competitive and want to win. I have made many of my closest friends through golf and enjoy playing with friends but I also like being out on the course, by myself, practicing. I want to go as far in golf as my ability and work ethic can take me.
