If my coaches and peers could describe me with one word I personally believe it would be leadership. I am a leader, and that is the kind of player you would be getting, if I were to attend your university. I personally believe that leadership is not only critical in sports but in life in general. Our world is built, reformed and perfected by leaders. Without leaders, people would not stand up for what is right and positive change would never manifest. I actually attended the Nationals tional Youth Leadership Conference in Washington D.C as the only male from Idaho to be nominated in 2012. This year I have been invited to attend the Global Youth Leadership Conference in Washington D.C and New York City. Being a leader doesn't negate the fact that I am a great team member and wish to contribute to the success of your team, in scores, competitiveness and positive energy. Our High School team is the Large school State Champion in Idaho. Additionally, I played a multitude of team sports, including football and basketball, through out Middle School, but decided to focus on golf and academic pursuits as a Freshman. I have always excelled at all athletic pursuits.
I have maintained over a 4.0 GPA through out High School and was inducted into National Honor Society as soon as I was eligible.. My collegiate goals include undergraduate study in Political Science, law and International studies. My educational goals beyond that include Law School and politics. I am currently a member of the Debate team as well as the Golf team. I was selected to go to Nationals in Debate the last two years. My partner and I are the Idaho State champions in Public forum debate. I also compete successfully in Speech events for my High School and was in the State finals. In June of this year, I was selected to attend Boy’s State, by our local American Legion. There were 150 boys from Idaho who attended and I was one of 2 boys, from Idaho who were selected to attend Boy’s Nation in Washington DC, this summer.
My character is one of honesty, hard work and passion. I am passionate about everything I choose to do. I intend to affect change in the world. My teachers have chosen me for inspiration awards and other forms of recognition that focus on character. I care about others and have sponsored a child in Mexico, through Compassion International since I was 12 years old. I believe in living cleanly , respecting myself, others and the environment. I want to live each day to the fullest and give my best effort every day.
Thank you for your consideration and I look forward to further communication.
Sincerely,
Payton Jenkins
