Personal Statement
My name is Neyl Cherrat. I am a French Moroccan golf player, raised in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
I chose to play golf at the age of six, deciding on this path at a young age, which at first seemed atypical and surprising to those around me. Ten years later, I am still in love with this game of precision and the engagement and discipline this sport requires; my goal is to become a pro level golfer.
Even while golf is considered an individual sport, I have been fortunate enough to be a part of golf teams, which has developed my character and team working skills.
Being an expatriate, I was constantly exposed to cross-cultural experiences that have enhanced my personal growth, while simultaneously opening my mind and humbling me.
In addition to my athletic engagement, I am also a dedicated student who understands the importance of a disciplined lifestyle that balances academics and athletic.
I would like to join a university that offers a supportive environment for a student athlete. I will proudly represent and defend the colors of my team and university.
