• WINNER! I played really well in this local junior competition, winning it by 6 shots with a scratch of Level par (71).

• Faldo Series - European Grand Final
• 10/25/21 to 10/27/21
• Approximately 3,000 entered the regional finals in the 2020 and 2021 season. After my win in the Scottish at Ladybank, I qualified for the European Grand Final. I played well on the first two rounds, but the highlight for me was my golf on the last round, shooting 2 under to finish 4th position overall in the Under 18 Boys category.

• Played well in the Strokeplay to qualify for the Matchplay, where I won through to the final, but finished runner up, losing 3&2.

• Scottish National Area Team Championships
• 9/12/21 to 9/12/21

• Grand Final Scottish Junior Tour
• 9/5/21 to 9/5/21
• The Grand Final of the Scottish Junior Tour took place at Luffness Golf Club, for the top 11 boys from each age category in the qualifying events. (See event notes for Scottish Junior Tour Order of Merit 2021). I won the Order of Merit so qualified relatively easily. In the Grand Final I shot 69,72 to finish +1 for the 36 holes, finishing Tied 2nd. The final was played off the Championship tees.

• Scottish Junior Tour Order of Merit 2021
• 5/1/21 to 9/4/21
• WINNER! I won the Scottish Junior Tour Order of Merit (scratch competition) for the Under 19 year olds in 2021, even although I played the vast majority of the events as a 16 year old. The courses were all championship courses (variety of parkland and links). There were 6 qualifying tournaments but I played in only 4 to win championship (as I was focused on my school exams at the start of qualifying). Details of the 4 events are listed below: a) Royal Musselburgh finished Tied 5th on Level Par after two rounds of 71,69; b) Arbroath finished 3rd on -1 after two rounds of 68,71; c) Royal Dornoch finished Tied 5th on +7 after three rounds of 72,71,77; d) Duff House Royal finished Tied 10th on +10 after three rounds of 70,75,69.

• Scottish Boys Strokeplay / Matchplay Championships

• Qualified to the Matchplay, after shooting 73, 75 to finish +6 for the 36 holes. In the Matchplay I played well but lost in Round 1, finishing Tied 17th. I learnt a lot from this round. I got off to a poor start, being down a few holes early on. I played really well to take it to the closing holes but it was always difficult after being down early on, so the lesson learnt here in matchplay is that the opening holes are as important as the closing.

• St Andrews Boys Championships (Strokeplay and Matchplay)

• I played well in the strokeplay qualifying, shooting 71 to qualify in 16th place for the Matchplay - approximately 150 players. The top 32 qualified for the Matchplay, where I probably played my best round of the year, shooting 67 (-3) but it wasn't quite good enough, as I lost 2 down to an opponent that played flawless golf in his round. I was disappointed not to progress to the next round after playing so well, but sometimes you have to just accept that others played a touch better.

• Scotland - member of the Ayrshire Men's Regional Team

• Due to all of my successes in the Junior Competitions, I've been asked to play in the Men's team for Ayrshire in the Scottish Regional competitions/league events in 2021. In the Matchplay events, I've achieved a 100% win record, playing 5 games and winning all of them. In the Strokeplay (Regional Area Team Championships), I shot -3 on a par 74 course to help Ayrshire finish Tied 6th in the Ayrshire Mens Area Team Championship.

• I've entered this event here, just to highlight that the 2020 Scottish Golf season was effectively cancelled due to COVID. All of the other events have been detailed from 2021, when I was a 16/17 year old. I've been a member of Turnberry since I was allowed to join as a 10 year old, so I used all the facilities in 2020 to really sharpen my technique in advance of the 2021 season. I am still a member of Turnberry and I play/practice there each week.

• Faldo Series Scottish Championship

• WINNER! Ladybank is Fife's premium inland parkland course. It has ben used on multiple occasions for Final Qualifying, when the Open Championship is held at St. Andrews. The event was held off the Championship Tees. For the 3 rounds I shot 74, 72, 76 to finish + 9 for the Championship, winning the Under 18 Boys section. I learnt a lot from this event, it finished in a playoff when I won the first extra hole. I've therefore qualified for the Grand European Final, to be held in Abu Dhabi (Covid rules permitting).

• West of Scotland Boys Strokeplay / Matchplay championship
• 6/1/21 to 6/30/21
• This event was held over the Colin Montgomerie designed championship course. I finished 3rd in the Strokeplay event after a round of +2 (74) to easily qualify for the Matchplay championship. In the Matchplay section I won all my early rounds, to qualify for the final, where I lost 2&1 (after my opponent birdied 3 of the last 4 and holed a bunker shot to win). I learnt a lot from this experience, to always expect the unexpected in matchplay.
