Personal Statement
My name is Achira Chumchaivate (Monte) and my high school graduation is in 2025. I have had a solid interest in golf since I was 3 years old and have been working hard in golf since then. My ultimate dream is surely to be a world-ranked professional golfer. At the same time, the value of education at a collegiate level is also something that I always believe in. Hence, I have the ambition to play golf for my collegiate team, so that I can do what I love while pursuing my degree.
Since I was 5 years old, I have spent most weekends on the road to compete in tournaments around the country, as well as traveled abroad to join international tournaments in U.S.A, India, Japan, China, and Indonesia. From these events, not only the memorable trophies that I brought home but also the priceless experience that enhances my golfing skills, problem-solving skills, game plans, and stress-management abilities. Most importantly, they brought me many good friends from different walks of life but with the same ambition.
During the game, my noticeable strengths are my approach shot and short game, which have been admired by peers and parents. Most of the time, these skills bring me victory over other long-driving players. I have to say that these skills didn't come as a gift, but they are from hard works and dedication to practices. I also believe that my persistence to improve and my track records make me being selected by the Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT) to join their “Sports Hero” project, which aims to develop high-ability young Thai athletes in all types of sports to become successful at the international level. Also, I am one of the twelve students selected to join Bangkok Prep's School Athlete Program which was designed to groom masterly athletes to improve into their full potential.
Out of the competition, most of my after-school time is devoted to golf practice, which is seven days a week, and multiple hours a day. Before school, I improve my physical fitness with swimming or yoga every morning. So, I manage my school works and assignments by finishing them mostly at school during break time.
At school, teachers love my politeness, responsible, and respectful behaviors. My friends love my caring, activeness, and honesty; so I have a full bunch of good friends at school. Although my schedule is packed with golfing activities, I pick my extra-curriculum activity to join the school's soccer team, in addition to the golf team.
Lastly, I would like to thank you my family, and my coaches who work hard with me as a team and always be by my side through good and bad times. With their full supports, I have the courage to dream big and to put my full commitment to achieve.
