Personal Statement
I am very happy to have the NCSA platform to be able to introduce myself to prospective College recruiters. My name is Owen Conrad and I was born and raised in Bangkok, Thailand. Since a very early age I started playing golf. Bangkok has over 60 golf courses and is considered a top global destination for golf. I always enjoyed golfing but never took it seriously until January of 2018, when I took my first lesson. After taking this lesson I was hooked. Over the past 10 months I have taken my score from 95 down to my most recent best score of 72. The key to my success has been finding a great coach who I work with weekly, and a great indoor golf training center which I go to daily after school. I have joined the golf team at a top private school named NIST. My goal is to continue to get better over the next two years, enjoy the friendships I have made and help my team win. Once I graduate high school, I hope to have the opportunity to continue playing golf when I go to college. I often hear friends, teachers and coaches say that I bring a fun and positive attitude to the team that is motivating for all. What I can bring to any team is leadership, passion and a positive attitude.
