Personal Statement
The idea of playing college golf in the US excites me as it will give me all the tools I need to achieve what I believe I am capable of in the game of golf aswell as working towards a university degree which will set me up well in life whatever path I choose to take. At the moment I am studying Physics, Chemistry and Economics at A-level. I like to hold my academics to a good standard as I believe discipline off the golf course translates to discipline on the golf course. As a college golfer I look forward to the team aspect particularly, as I get a lot of satisfaction when I have made a good contribution to a team. My goal for this winter in order to get my game ready for next season is to take my practise to the next level. I feel as though I find it difficult to take my range and practise green game to competition play. I will improve this by adding more context to my practise and trying to add a 'consequence' to every shot so that I can simulate pressure of playing in a tournament. Aswell as this I will be doing a lot of performance based practise eg. points based games and 9 hole scoring games. This will help me have quality practise sessions that are purposeful, and therefore help me achieve better scores.
