Personal Statement
After the Optimist International Championship on July of 2018, I started playing tournaments under par very often. This was a very fast and unexpected change in my golf as a junior. However, I feel I grew the most as a student-athlete on September of last year, when I played the Southamerican team tournament for my country. I finished on third place individually, I won in pairs, but in teams we were fourth out of ten. That experience helped me realize and learn the value of teamwork, leadership, and sacrifice. In that moment I lead me to focus my training and effort on becoming a good player and person capable of playing at college level.
Through the years I learned that golf is not hitting bombs, it is a game in which the mind is more important than anything. I’m looking for a program that would be a good fit for me academically as well as athletically. I believe I not only have the talent to compete for a college team, but the character, commitment, courage, and leadership skills to make a positive impact on your program. I know that I have what it takes to be a leader and a good candidate on your team.
