Personal Statement
Winning tournaments definitely are a motivational factor in anyone's life. However, the moments in which I have not achieved the success I was hoping to have been the most influential times of my life. When you feel that you are good at nothing, when you feel that you are wasting your time practicing for something you constantly fail at, the only thing that drives you through and gets you to keep moving forward is the love and passion for your sport. Golf has meant that for me since I first saw my father and brother playing a match in a course when I was just a kid, and got totally hooked to start practicing it.
Golf has taught me that an excellent team is necessary for great outcomes, but only real improvement comes from yourself; it is you who with your good or bad choices decides who you are going to be, and it is only yourself who can get you to recover from rough patches and who will motivate you to keep grinding even when you are playing bad. That is the character I have grown by playing and competing in golf. My goals for college are to obtain a full quality education, earn a degree, and being able to compete at the highest level, and reach my full potential in the sport I love, golf. I believe I have the work ethic, commitment, and resilience to compete at the college level and make an impact on your program!
