Personal Statement
I started taking golf lessons around October of 2021 with my mother so that we could go on rounds of golf together. Although I had little interest in this sport at the time, I was told by those around me that I had talent as a beginner, and that I should pursue golf in my future. Then, recently, I realized during another golf lesson that I did have that knack to potentially go above. So, despite not being able to participate in a lot of camps and tournaments due to where I live and having started much later than I should have, I began taking lessons seriously and started focusing on pursuing a future in golf, joining a top division team, or acquiring a scholarship for one.
Although I have my flaws in the sport, I can consistently shoot medium-distance shots and encourage the people who play with me to keep practicing and getting better.
My goals for this sport include:
- Getting a minimum D2 scholarship to one of the universities on my list.
- Becoming a top player at the Evergreen Golf Club where my hometown is.
While I have a long way to go, I know that with enough time and effort, I can make up for all the lost time I could have spent practicing to becoming a better golf player and even becoming one of the best in my future school.
