Personal Statement
My name is Marian Dorin Musat and my passion for the game of golf is what drives me to try perfect my game at every level. Living in a country where golf is not advertised as it should be, I dedicated the past few years since 2008 to playing golf, first in my country, Romania, along with the United Kingdom at RightSided Swing Academy. I was able to work with Luke Ringrose and Gary Edwin, coaches which have players on PGA Tour such as Rod Pampling, Peter Senior, Rebecca Artis, Fabrizio Zanotti and Felipe Aguilar. In the last summer, I went in Jakarta, Indonesia at Pro Tour Golf College International where coach Lawrie Montague and coach David Milne taught me the mental skills which are so vital in golf.
Living in a country where golf is not such a common sport, I am trying to compensate this disadvantage by learning from well-known academies in order to build a confident swing which works even on under pressure conditions. I work hard and I am very focused and determined to achieve my goal of playing golf at the highest level. I believe that this dedication separates me from other golfers my age.
As a result of my preparation, I won the “Romanian National Junior Champion” title for five years in a row and participate in international events such as 70th Singapore Open, 3rd Olympic Jabar Open in Jakarta, Indonesia and numerous tournaments in UK.
In terms of academics, my dream is to study business at a university which can provide me the best opportunities to apply in this major after I finish my years of university.
