My ultimate goal is to play at the highest level I possibly can. In the last couple of years I stopped playing my other sports to focus on golf, in this time I have gained lots of different experiences and had some significant achievements:
2023 Season so far:
- Handicap down to 1.6
- 3rd in Lincolnshire Boys Amateur Championship with rounds of 75 and 79 at Holme Hall Golf Club (6406 yds)
- Selected for a 6-person County u18 team to play in the Midlands Championship against 10 other counties. With scores of 75 and 76, I finished 16th from the 60 county players at the event and Lincolnshire finished in 3rd place
- Played in my first Faldo Series Event and narrowly missed the cut
- Won Lincolnshire County Pairs Trophy at Cleethorpes Golf Club
- Won best gross in Cleethorpes Junior Open
-Finished 38th in the qualifying rounds of the Scottish Boys Amateur (top 64 made the cut)
Summer 2022:
- Reduced handicap from 10.4 to 3.7. In that time I achieved the following:
- Played in Scottish Boys u16 Open and was noticed by Rob Kedzlie an u18 England Golf selector and manager of the Lincolnshire u18 County Performance Squad (see references)
- Played in St Andrews Boys Open
- Appointed captain of Thonock Park Golf Club (Home of Ping Europe)
- Finished 5th from 54 in the Lincolnshire Junior County Order of Merit (7 events)
- 2nd in Blankney Golf Club (Lincolnshire) Boys Open
- Achieved my best score of a level par 72 on Karsten Lakes (over 6700 yds) course at Thonock Park. This achieved the best Gross in Mens August Monthly Medal
- Scored 77 to Tie second after round 1 of the British Junior Golf Tour Multi-day tournament at Belton Woods (Lakes Course - 6853 yds)
- Scored 76 and tied 4th in the St Ives Classic (British Junior Golf Tour) at St Ives Golf Club in Huntingdonshire (6758 yds)
- Highest points scorer for Lincolnshire in my debut u18 match against Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire with 2.5pts from 4
Please find the link below my latest Trackman report from November 2022. Since this was done, I have been working on neutralising my club path which has resulted in much more consistency and a controllable fade.
Scott Frisby Trackman Report - November 2022
I regret not focussing on golf seriously until the last couple of years. I have now reduced the number of other sports I play and I’m now driven to make up for lost time. I balance my academic work and golf practice very effectively. My golf handicap has rapidly decreased over 2 years and academically I expect to achieve a GPA of 5.
I am the Junior Captain at the Ping owned Thonock Park Golf Club, I have demonstrated through this role my ability to lead and influence others, I happily give up my own time to support junior golfers coming into the game. I organise the junior team, introduce and welcome new members and support the junior coaching programme. I also play the Lincolnshire U18 County Team, this has given me experience of playing golf as a team and shown me the importance of supporting my team mates. Through the Junior County Coaching Programme I have gained access to high level coaching and facilities, as a result my ability to score consistently is rapidly improving.
I am not scared of hard work. I leave for school before 7am every morning and don’t get home until after 5pm. On Saturday and Sunday I get up at 5am to work for Ping, this involves doing a number of different golf operations jobs before I get to go and play/practice my own golf. If selected for a golf scholarship I would bring this drive and motivation to my golf, my studies, and my teammates.
