Personal Statement
My name is Mauricio López Duarte. I am from Mexico. Since I was 9 years old I Started playing golf in the Club the Golf Santa Margarita Academy with prepared coaches who have taught me to practice this sport. During my first years I dedicated a lot to making good movements in my swing until I reached the one that I needed to have good scores to finally shoot even par for the first time. For many years I have participated in many regional tournaments in which I have had good performances. I am currently in the "Central Zone University Golf Tour", a tour that is played in the center of Mexico in which many universities in the region participate. I play in this category because being 18 years old I can no longer be in the 16-18 category. I am currently in my last year of High School preparing for my university years in which I want to dedicate myself to being a Computer Systems Engineer. The High School I am currently in is one of the only ones in my country that has the International Baccalaureate program, mainly including the Diploma Program. In addition to this, I also completed a distance baccalaureate endorsed by the National Autonomous University of Mexico.
I can consider myself as a calmed person and dedicated to what I do both in the academic area and in golf. I am very patient and open-minded since I like to live with different people and learn new things every day. For this reason, I would like to address all the coaches to contact them and to help me find a suitable university for me where I can study engineering and play golf. I am looking for scholarships from different universities and I think that with golf it could be a good option to obtain one by adding to my good academic average that I have achieved during my years of study.
