Personal Statement
Golf has been a source of focus and calm throughout my life, driving me to not only compete but constantly improve. From representing Braeburn School since I was seven to being part of team who won the Kenya Junior Golf League Championship in 2024, I’ve embraced every challenge the sport offers. But my journey is more than trophies—it’s about the resilience built during tough mornings and even tougher leaderboards. Surpassing my dad, my biggest supporter, in father-child matches and winning paired games have been a personal triumph that deepened my passion for the game.
Navigating the dual challenge of academics and athletics has been transformative, particularly as I’ve worked through borderline dyslexia and ADHD. This experience has made me resourceful, disciplined, and mentally tougher—qualities that I believe will serve me well in a collegiate environment. My dedication earned me the ‘Super Student - Focused Approach to Learning’ award in 2023, a recognition that I hold dear as it reflects my ability to balance sports and academics.
As a house captain, I’ve mentored younger players, organized practice sessions, and fostered a sense of unity within my team. These leadership skills, alongside my ability to manage time effectively, will make me a strong contributor to your golf team and academic community. While I’m still exploring potential areas of study, I am eager to find a degree path that allows me to combine my intellectual curiosity with the analytical mindset I’ve honed on the golf course.
My goal is to take my game to the next level at the collegiate level, competing and growing under your program’s guidance. I am confident that my perseverance, leadership, and passion will make me a valuable asset to your team.
