Personal Statement
I am 19 years of age, from the UK, and I am currently studying in my second year at Ottawa University in Kansas. I am studying for a Business Administration degree, on a golf scholarship, and I am in my Sophomore year. Ottawa has been a great experience, from both an academic and golf perspective, and I have made some great friends and worked with supportive Coaches and Tutors. I play for the University A Team and won my first University Tournament in April 2018.
I am looking to transfer to a University with will enable me to combine my studies, while continuing to develop and improve my golf game, to the highest standard possible, with like-minded individuals. I am a very competitive individual and always enjoying fighting and pushing myself to be the best. My commitment would be to work hard, obtain good grades, which will support and strengthen my ambition of working within the golf profession.
I have enjoyed playing with all levels of golfers, including some professionals, namely Gareth Jones (PGA Pro at Sandiway Golf Club) and Sam Connor (Challenge Tour player). I have learnt a lot from playing with the better golfers as they give me aspirations to improve and eventually be better than they are. I feel golf is all about having fun, even if you are in a competition, as you always hit 1 or 2 great shots which make you feel good about yourself and make you want to come back and play the next day. My greatest achievement to date is winning Royal Birkdale Junior open in August 2016 by shooting a 2 under par 70.
