Personal Statement
I am currently a student athlete in grade 11 at Altus Performance Europe.
I specialized in Economics and Political science and play golf at “Le Vaudreuil PGA golf course” (France), I will be graduating in July 2023.
With the support of my family, I chose to follow a student athlete career since ninth grade so I would be able to focus and improve my golfing. My dream is to become a professional golf player, and, I believe, this is the first step to do so.
Ever since I joined Altus Performance Europe center in September 2020, I became ranked as a French amateur ("Mérite Amateurs Messieurs" of the French Golf Federation) at last quarter of 2020 and then steadily progressed until being ranked 360th at the beginning of Novembre 2022 with a WHS index of 1.60 to this day.
I also integrated the "European golf rankings" (EGR) and I still have to achieve the performances that will allow me to join the "World Amateur golf ranking" (WAGR).
My goal for 2023 is to be ranked in the top 150 to 200 French players in the French amateur ranking and to integrate the WAGR and thus be able to compete in higher tournaments, especially at the international and European level.
Regarding my academic plans, I believe that the golf industry meant to present real opportunities in the years to come and I would like to acquire skills in marketing, management and business administration. Therefore, I strongly desire to become a student in your university to study these topics in an international context and, ultimately, get a degree that will be useful for my professional life beyond golf competitions.
I am prepared and ready to study abroad, as I already had the opportunity to live and attend school for several years on Reunion Island, then in Berlin, Amsterdam and Paris before joining Altus Performance Europe boarding school. Even if French is my mother tong, I am also very proficient in English.
These personal experiences have allowed me to develop many skills: adaptability, open-mindedness and autonomy, which is why I can confidently consider studying abroad.
Being in a boarding school, I was able to build a project on my own and give myself the means to carry it out. As a perfectionist, I am eager to succeed and capable of showing a strong determination.
Furthermore, belonging to a team is an important value that I am proud to promote and, in this respect, it would be a tremendous honor to carry the values of your community once I have the honor of being admitted.
