Personal Statement
Dear Sir/Ma'am,
My name is Jaime Lewis, I am a young passionate South African golfer. I am currently 16 years old and currently playing off a +0.8 handicap. I participate in junior golf league and Men's Scratch League for my local country club, I am on my high school’s 1st golf team and have represented my province to date. My current scoring average is roughly 73.
I am currently on an academic scholarship at my high school, St. Stithians College in South Africa. I am a member of the “interact club” at my school, this is a club that focuses on bettering the lives around us through interaction and fund raising for various organizations and charities. Community service is vital for personal growth as an individual and is incredibly important to give back to you local community.
I am interested in pursuing a business degree when I finish high school while pursuing my dream of playing College golf and still dream of making a career out of golf. I hope to get into a good college with a great program. My goal for college golf is to be a regular in the team, and to play almost, if not all the events. I truly enjoy the thrill of competition and the Journey to be a better golfer. I am a firm believer in the saying "nothing worth having comes easy," thus I work hard and put a great deal of effort into everything I do, Why do it if you are not giving it your all? I am a team player, I have played many team sports at high levels and still am involved in a team sport, I know exactly what makes a team tick and function at its highest level. I am light hearted yet serious and believe that both of these qualities are an asset to any team.
I am committed, hardworking and disciplined, and looking for an opportunity and believe that I have a lot to offer to any program. I would appreciate your response and feedback.
