Personal Statement
My name is Oscar Geber and I am a former multi sport athlete who started focusing on competitive golf about 4 years ago. In the last 2 years I've improved steadily having improved average score with more than 10 strokes while playing on the same youth tours as the other Swedish top junior golfers such as both finalists of the Boys Amateur Championship. Attending a University abroad feels like the natural next step of my golfing career.

What makes me unique?
I'm extremely driven and I set high goals and standards for my self that I always strive to fullfil both as a golfer and as a student. I'm motivated and intrigued by those who are superior to me and I always strive after being able to compete with these people. I analyze the strengths of those who are better than me and I use the information that I gain to try and better myself. I work well in social events and I like to communicate and find new connections.
My strengths as a golfer.
I've always been a golfer that has the ability to make a lot of birdies in a round however this is also paired with making a few mistakes when concentration gets low which can lead to poor bogeys. The recent trend in my golf game has been an improved focus and ability to avoid bogeys which can be seen in my improved scores and in my improved average score compared to last year. I'm certain that if I'm given the opportunity to work on this part of my golf game it will lead to consequent low scores.
Academic approach and merits.
I find academics very important and I always strive after achieving the best grades possible. So far I feel I've been successful in receiving high grades in high school and I plan to continue with this and to graduate from high school with excellent grades. My goal is not only to play collegiate golf for 4 years but also to graduate with excellent grades and to achieve great golf achievements.
I have received a letter of recommendation from my english teacher for my performance last years classes. This will be linked at the bottom of this mail.
How I contribute to a team.
In most instances I'm hard working and focused and I like to encourage and motivate those around me. However, I also feel that i can contribute with positivity and an ability to ease the mood in tense situations.
