Personal Statement
I have been playing golf since the age of 3, when I could first swing a plastic club. My weekly golfing routine is made up of four practice sessions, three gym sessions for strengthening and conditioning and a lesson from my coach (Pedro Lemos, at Foxhills Golf & Country Club). My short game is my strength and I am working on increasing length in my long game as a grow physically.
Last season I competed in seven tournaments and the highlights were qualifying and playing in my first European Junior Open in Spain and shooting two under par in the Faldo Series South tournament to get into the last group on the final day. I know I have more work ahead of me to convert some good play into tournament results.
I play for my high school team, my club and for the Foxhills foundation (where I have my coaching). Playing for a team probably gives me more of a buzz than playing for myself.
Pedro Lemos is my coach and has been for over 5 years and plays a big part in my golfing life. I have a coaching session with Pedro every week to ensure that my game is constantly developing and improving. I listen well, respond to feedback and act on coaching advice, working hard to build my coach’s advice into my game. I assist Pedro with his golf camps to help younger juniors start in the sport and to give something back to Pedro and Foxhills.
