Personal Statement
My name is Jackson Tait and I'm a junior golfer from Perth, Western Australia. I am a member at Joondalup Country club in Connolly, Western Australia. My current handicap is +0.1 and my current stroke average is 74.6. I practice daily until it's dark, I have a very strong work ethic and a drive to constantly improve. I am constantly seeking to learn anything and everything about golf, whether it is about the history of the sport, equipment, strategy, the proper ways to practice, or about the ideal technique. My handicap was 11.8 only a year ago, so through the work I have done, I have seen some significant improvement. I still, however, am hungry and constantly striving to continue that trend. I lived in the USA for 3 years from 2018-2021, and have had the goal to get back and play college golf ever since. Playing in college is a once in a lifetime opportunity that could change my whole life. Some of my results include T11 in Drummond 54 hole southwest classic, T2 Mossman park Jnr open, runner up at the Melville glades junior open 72 (E), and Runner up at the Joondalup summer cup 68 (-4) . I competed in the West Australian State Amateur and the City of Perth Amateur as well. I am in Year 12 (12th grade) of school and I am 16 years of age. I understand that education and academic development is just as important as progressing my goals in golf, hence why I have the goal of college as my current priority. I have selected the correct subjects for year 11 and 12 that will give me eligibility to qualify for college programs when I graduate from high school in October 2024. In the subjects I have chosen, I am not just doing them because they are required, but I am doing them to get the most of them, to increase my knowledge and broader skills and am always working to grow the best version of me that I possibly can be. I would like to explore being a part of your program and if you were keen to set up a time for a call or video call, I would genuinely value the opportunity to engage with you directly. If you wanted to check me out some more be sure to have a look at my video or my Instagram (@Jrtait_07).

Jackson
