Sebastian Steensgaard Nielsen '22 Recruiting Profile

My name is Sebastian Steensgaard Nielsen. I am 18 years old and a passionate golf player. I'm already NCAA eligible. 

Of course my family have affected the person I am today, because they introduced me to the sport, but I learned a lot about myself, in my golfclub when I practice many hours alone.
I like this sport, because you can always be better, and I like that, I also like how good your mentality must be, to compete at a high level.

I will be a good college teammate because: I possess a natural and well-developed ability to help and be there for others. I understand being present in my work/carrier but still have a good overview of what is happening around me. I am always interested in learning new methods and openminded in how to develop my game. I enjoy the camaraderie of team sports, in addition to individual challenges.  

My college goals are: Continuedly enjoy my golf and be able to turn professional. Secondly to graduate with a reputable degree, benefit from the college experience and enjoy the friendships from college.

The strengths of my golf game are: Driving and my short game and my putting is really good. Developed a competitive spirit, knowing I am the one with my coach responsible for the results.

I think my golf game will continue to improve because: I work very hard at my game. I have a good coach (Russell Taylor, Head pro, Furesø Golfclub, previously assistant coach for the national team.  Trained Frederik Dreier, which played for UTEP 2013-2017, Rasmus Neergaard-Petersen, playing for Oklahoma State 2018-2022), I practice every day and my ambition is to be accepted at a Division One college with help from my golf game.

My top competenceas golfplayer: I am always open to new inputs. I am responsible and can quickly acquire new knowledge and am curious. I have the ability to adapt to new tasks and the unexpected and welcome variety and changing demands

It would be the pinnacle of my golfing career to experience the game of golf in its finest form in your country. There, golf is not just considered a sport, but also a vital element of years of culture.

My ability to work hard at both my academics and golf, and my ability to never give up. I am enthusiastic. I enjoy being part of a golf team and I am a social person.I think that my work ethic and talent would be a great match for your program.
