Though there are many things that have influenced who I am at this point in my life, one of the most important would have to be my head high school golf coach, Tim. I did not start playing golf until my 8th grade year, and my first competitive tournament was not until my freshman year of high school. I would never have grown such a love for the game of golf if it were not for Tim. Through playing golf I have learned that nothing is impossible if you put your mind to it. My freshman year of high school I didn’t play very much varsity, but now going into my senior year I am our number one golfer, and a strong leader for the team. I have an unquenchable desire to not only be the best I can be, but to share my passion and love for the game with others.
I also am an accomplished student. Academics have always been important to myself and my family. I am confident I will finish my high school senior year maintaining or improving my GPA I have earned in the past three years. I am equally confident I will do well in college and achieve a high GPA throughout, as I am driven and disciplined and plan to achieve success in whatever I do.
I have had many obstacles to get where I am as a golfer and person. Through my high school golfing career we have been very close to making the state tournament as a team, but we have fallen just short. I believe that these experiences have made not only my golf game stronger, but they have made me mentally tougher as well. I view myself as a great teammate, a good learner, committed and dedicated as well as an all around easy to get along with individual. I believe all of these traits, desires accomplishments would make me an ideal golf team member and student and I look forward to hearing from your school!
