I firmly believe that I have the ability and potential to compete in college at a high level. I have always striven to be the hardest working person wherever I am. I do understand that I have room to improve and will do anything possible to be the best player I can be. I would like to play for a university that has a coach and team that put team first and care about each other as a family. I want to go to a university that will be best for my education and play for a coach that wants me to succeed in the classroom as well as on the course. I would also like to play for a coach that pushes me to my absolute best and encourages off the course work in the community.
I have always worked very hard at my academics. While maintaining a 4.0 GPA every year in school and achieving a 30 on the ACT, I look to continue my academic success in college. I enjoy challenging classes, especially those that include problem solving.
I come from a very small school that plays on sand greens. Although I wish I had the opportunity to play on grass greens for my entire high school career, I am fortunate that I have had the opportunity to play the sport at all. I have been on varsity all three years that I have been in high school and am looking forward to competing for a state championship this year. My freshmen year, our team at Chase County High School placed 3rd in state, and followed up the next year by getting 2nd. In my sophomore season, I was also able to improve to place 6th as an individual in state. This past junior year, we lost three seniors and were not able to place in the top three in state, but as an individual I shot a 69 and took 2nd. I think our team has a good chance to get another top three placing and my ultimate goal is to have a team and individual state championship.
