Coaches:
I am a dedicated student-athlete who has made tremendous progress in golf over the past three years. Golf has become a true passion for me and I am committed to continuing to grow and excel in the sport moving forward. I am serious about playing golf in college and whichever program I play for will get a golfer who will continue to make tremendous improvements over the coming years.
Academics: I am an excellent student with a 4.0 GPA. I have taken a rigorous load of AP and honors classes in high school, as well as dual-enrollment college classes from our local universities. I have achieved high honors with distinction 7 of 8 quarters in school, and am organized and focused in my studies. My AP Classes include AP Biology, AP Statistics, AP US History, AP Geography, AP Economics, AP Language. Additionally, I was inducted into the National Honor Society as a Junior, and I serve on the executive committee as treasurer for student council.
Golf Journey: I fell in love with Golf during the pandemic. Although I began playing golf at a very young age with my father (My dad played college golf and is in his college’s athletics hall of fame), with my first 18 hole round occurred in the spring of 2020. I joined the golf team that fall (as a sophomore) leaving varsity soccer after having played the sport for the past 9 years. My first year on the team I qualified for states as an individual. Last year, as the 1 man on my high school golf team, I began to excel in tournaments. My handicap fell to 3.9 and my 18 hole scoring average was a 75. I excelled when it counted, shooting 73 (par 72) in our regional (KVAC) Conference Championship, coming in 2nd place, and helping both myself and my team qualify for states. At the Class A State Championship I shot a 76 (par 72) in tough conditions, making birdie on the 18th hole in front of a crowd to finish 5th overall in the state and earn a spot in New England's. I was named to the all-state team last fall as well (something only 7 male golfers in the state achieved: https://bit.ly/3KARFzV ). I was also fortunate enough to win the summer-long match-play club championship at my club, Waterville C.C, home of many big tournaments over the years including the Maine and New England Amateur Championships.
This summer I have taken my game to the next level, lowering my handicap from a 3.9 to a +.0.5, while playing in numerous tournaments in Maine and New England. Currently I lead the NEPGA Junior Tour where I have 4 first place finishes (2 ties), a tie for second, and a fifth place finish in 6 events. I lead the Junior Tour Player of the Year Rankings by over 50 points ( https://bit.ly/47nv0kf ), in this my first year playing. Additionally, I’ve performed well in the limited tournaments I’ve played in outside of Maine including winning the Avida Cup Qualifier and placing 4th in the tournament itself ( https://bit.ly/3qqeDTx ).
College Golf: I am an incredibly hard worker who has improved tremendously over the past three years, and I will continue to improve moving forward. I’m excited about the opportunity of playing golf in college and gaining my degree. Any coach who takes a chance on me will get a dedicated athlete, an incredibly hard worker, a strong and loyal teammate, and someone who will continue to grow as a golfer. I expect to end the season with at least a +1 handicap and anticipate taking my game to the next level in the coming year.
I look forward to having the opportunity to meet and talk about playing golf at the next level.
