I started playing golf during my freshman year of high school, I had played golf a few times before but never thought I would take it seriously. After that first qualifying match for the varsity team, I realized that this was what I wanted to do. However I was nowhere near good enough to compete even at the junior varsity level, my scores were in the low 70's and high 60's for just 9 holes. During my first season, I also found a job at my local course where I met my private golf coach for the first time, we began lessons soon after that season ended, and now in my junior year, I have dropped 30 ish strokes and average in the low 40's for 9 holes. My goal is to play golf at the collegiate level and to compete at a higher level. What makes me a good candidate is that I am a hard worker and no matter what this game throws at me I will overcome it, I am also very coachable and I listen to what coaches tell me. Academically I would say I have a good GPA ranging around 3.6 to 3.8
