Personal Statement

Hello, I am Benjamin Wu, a junior at Troy High School (MI). I am a hardworking student-athlete who strives to succeed in the classroom and the golf course. I also swim competitively as a second sport.

I was first introduced to the game of golf when I was 5 by my parents. The first experience I had to golf was a mini-golf course with my uncle, and I found putting to be really fun.  I was drawn to the game because it required long periods outdoors, which I love. Since being introduced to the game, golf has been an important part of my life.

Ever since I was first introduced to tournaments, I took golf very seriously. Since joining tournaments, I have worked very hard to keep up with the top of the competition. After playing with my friend who's a top player in the country, I realized what a top player plays like. Since then, I have improved my scoring average drastically and even gained a lot of yardage on my clubs in the last year. I hope to keep improving and take the next step from National Tournaments and High School tournaments to NCAA College Golf.
