Hello, my name is AJ Wells. I was a football player until three years ago when i switched to golf. I had never played golf before, but when the pandemic hit, I did not believe team sports like football would go. I talked with my family and decided I would like to become a golfer. It's important to note, I had never swung a golf club until three years ago. I have been told I'm a natural athlete and I am definitely willing to work hard to improve myself. This year I won the "Most Improved" award for our golf team. My coach remarked how much work i had done over the off season to improve my scores. After only two years, with deep commitment and extra effort paid off and effort I was earned my spot on the Varsity Team. I definitely love golf, and I hope to continue and improve myself as a golfer.
In addition to my athletic abilities, I have been student class president my freshman, sophomore and now junior year. I'm a also member of the national Honor Society. I currently have a 3.75 GPA, and I only take AP or honors classes where they are available. I am also a member of the CMR track team as a javelin thrower. I play piano and am a volunteer at our local hospital.
I recently was awarded the prestigious United States Senate Youth Program Scholarship and trip to Washington DC. This is awarded to only two students per state every year. It was an absolute honor being selected for this opportunity. https://ussenateyouth.org/
I am open to colleges across the country but will prioritize those with an Air Force ROTC opportunity, or other service academies.
