From a young age, my parents have always pushed me to be the best I can be, as a golfer, a student, and a person. I have played golf for several years now, and I have learned how to compete at a high level by participating in many tournaments outside of school. Winning the Class “A” Montana State Golf Championship team title as a freshman was the highlight of my high school career. However, I feel I grew the most as a student-athlete my sophomore year when our team finished one stroke out of third place at the state tournament. That experience helped me grow as a person and led me to re-focus my own efforts on becoming a better team leader who could help lead the team to another state title. I was fortunate enough to be part of an amazing group when we took 1st place my freshman year, and when the three seniors graduated, I realized that I had to become a leader in order to achieve my team aspirations. Because of this, I learned a lot about the value of teamwork, commitment, sacrifice, and leadership during my sophomore year. I'm looking for a program that will be a good fit for me athletically as well as academically. I believe, I not only have the talent to compete for a college team, but the character, work-ethic, and leadership skills to make an immediate impact on your program. As the team captain the last two years, as well as this upcoming school year, I know that I have what it takes to be a leader on your team!
My goals for the next school year are to get all A’s (keeping my 4.0 GPA), win an individual state golf title after being last year’s runner-up, a team state golf title, and a state basketball title. In addition, my aspirations for college are to continue to grow in character, get an outstanding grade point average, get a degree (in whatever field I decide), have a solid individual collegiate golf career, help my team be the best it can be, receive honors for outstanding play in tournaments, contribute to a talented golf program, win an NCAA individual title, and win an NCAA team title.
