I am a multi-sport athlete who loves soccer, track, baseball, swimming, and golf. My mom and dad even entered me in a kid’s triathlon at our local YMCA when I was a 7-year-old, and I thought my lungs were going to explode! I have always enjoyed golf, but did not get serious about competitive golf until my sophomore year in high school. In Nebraska, the three sports that I enjoy (golf, soccer, and track) are in the spring, so I had to decide on what I really enjoyed the most. Our golf coach at Scottsbluff High School is very persistent, positive, and a great golfer, and convinced me to try golf instead of soccer two years ago. I have never looked back and absolutely love the challenges golf offers both mentally and physically.
I did well my sophomore year, and first year of high school golf, I did well. I played varsity the second half of the season and had an 18-hole average of 90. I played on our championship district team and played in our Nebraska Class B state tournament where I placed 33rd.
My junior year 18-hole average dropped to 77. Our team won 1st place at districts and individually, I placed 3rd shooting a 74. At our 2023 Nebraska Class B State Tournament, my high school team placed 3rd, and I medaled placing 12th with a 77/77 (154).
My 2024 senior season was productive. I broke our school season average record with a 74.5, shot a low score of 69, and placed 2nd at the 2024 class B Nebraska State Boys Golf Championship. I have made tremendous progress in many aspects of my golf game and know that I have not hit my ceiling yet.
During the summers of 2022-2024, I have worked at the golf course and have put in many practice hours. My hard work and effort helped me to grow as a golf athlete and person. I dedicated my off-season time to school, practicing golf, lifting weights, and working at the golf course. I got extra help from my local golf pro, worked on the golf simulator, and improved my golf game each season. This summer, I plan to continue to work hard practicing and playing in Junior Amateur and State Amateur competitions in Wyoming and Nebraska.
I also work very hard in the classroom. I have always been a straight-A student and enjoy learning. I have been in National Honor Society and am on the Honor Roll every semester throughout middle school and high school. I volunteer for Cat Packs to help school kids in need of extra food and put in many hours helping with a stream restoration group in the Panhandle of Nebraska with my dad. I also volunteer at our Church.
I would like to attend a college where I can get a great education and play a sport that I love. I would like to find a school where I can develop as a golfer and person to maximize my golf and personal skills. I have a very close family and am looking for this closeness in a team and coach. The right team fit is the most important to me.
