Cole Chaplin '24 Recruiting Profile

My name is Cole Chaplin and I am a Senior at Sanborn Regional High School in Kingston, NH. I am an average academic student. However, do believe I have to try a lot harder than some due to my ADHD. I've never allowed this to interfere with my determination despite many challenging days. I picked up my first set of golf clubs at two and have enjoyed the sport ever since. In 2020, when the world shut down, I began focusing more and more on golf. In my Freshmen year, I decided to go out for the golf team and made varsity. I was 5th in position on the team with the goal to improve each year. In August of 2020, I began working with a PGA Golf Professional Instructor which helped improve my overall performance. Sophomore year I alternated between 2 and 3 position and qualified for individuals. In my Junior year, I did not go out for the team so I could focus on my academics with more coaching and expand play time. This one decision has taught me many things. I am now a senior and have earned number 1 position on the team. Golf to me is home. It's the one sport where the distractions are minimal and focus is my strength. I am an energetic young man with a big heart who is coachable and determined. I am a young man of faith of which has helped me during some difficult times. I recognize failing is where success is born and want to grow into a better young man, alongside my coaches and team.
