Personal Statement

My goal is to play golf at the college level so I can continue to improve and become the best golfer I can possibly be. I didn't start playing golf until march of my 8th grade year. Ever since then golf has been an integral part of my life. I have taken it very seriously and have a drive to constantly keep improving while still keeping a love for the game. During my summer before Freshman year I had trouble breaking 90, I didn't start playing out of school tournaments until my summer before sophomore year and averaged around 86, my handicap was an 11 now after one year my handicap dropped to a 1.7 and tournament scoring average down to a 76. I was a captain of my Varsity Golf Team as a sophomore and will most likely be captain for my junior and senior year. My scores are not anything super impressive right now but I am dedicated to working as hard as I can to become one of the best. That is what separates me from other recruits.

It is now a year later and I am a +1 handicap and have a tournament scoring average of 73. I am constantly working hard to improve and become the best I can be. I truly believe my best golf is years away and given the chance I can improve significantly.

T26 out of 95. I shot 72 - 69 - 72 - 80. The final day was 36 holes and to be honest my body just could not handle it. I am not saying this as an excuse but to show that I have learned from this and will train to make sure my body never fails me again. It was a par 71 so I finished +9 overall and I was 1 under on cut day which had me placed inside the top 10 going into the final day.

I shot a 73 on a par 70. I came in first place (won in playoff) out of 39 people. I did not have the greatest day ball striking however I did a good job of scrambling to keep my round from getting out of hand.

I shot 72 on a par 70. The Course is very short however very narrow which is it's defense. I came in 5th place out of 76 golfers.

I shot 74 both days to take 4th place in the tournament. The course was short only 6300 par 71 but we had a 4+ hour rain delay on Saturday and a 2+ hour rain delay on Sunday.

Winter: Golf specific speed training workouts, as well as driving range or indoor trackman 4 times a week. Fall/Spring: range, chipping and putting 5-6 times a week and try to play at least once a week. Summer: 5 days range, chipping, putting. Play a round 2 times a week.
