Golf has been a major component of my life since I can recall. My father introduced the game to me when I was four or five, and since then I have been inseparable from the course. The game of golf has helped me develop in innumerable aspects, it has taught me lessons that are not only applicable to how I play each hole but how I outlook my life. To me, golf has shown me what patience and hardwork can live up to. I want to play college golf for various reasons… The most important reason being to strengthen and develop my golf sense and skill more. I also want to be a helpful shoulder for my teammates to depend on. My dedication to perfecting every element of golf is something that I take pride in as well as my steady head and temperament. Many have told me that my calmness on the course is something that can take years to perfect. These skills are just a few I feel make me stand out against others. Throughout my highschool years, I have performed in several golf tournaments and have attended lessons to aid in the meticulous nuances of golf. Academically speaking, I have maintained a 3.7 GPA and take all advanced classes. I also play two other sports, soccer and basketball, and I am an active member in a few clubs at my school. My ability to balance academics and athletics is another skill I am proud to own. Overall, the game of golf has played a vital role in shaping me into the person I am today– and I would be extremely grateful to have the opportunity to continue playing the game I love. Throughout my highschool career I started at a 12 handicap and now improved to a 5 handicap.
