June 2018Personal Statement
As a Senior at Northern Valley Old Tappan High School, in Old Tappan, New Jersey, I am very fortunate to be part of an amazing golf team. NVOT was the first North Jersey public school this decade to win back-to-back state golf titles. Being part of such a successful program has taught me several things that will help me as I move on to play college golf: commitment, perseverance, mental toughness, and patience, to name just a few.
I am looking forward to this Spring season and hope to be able to put all my hours of practice in the off-season to use on the course. I have worked hard this winter, and am committed to continuing to work hard with my swing coach to better my game so that I can not only participate in, but excel in matches and look to win an unprecedented 2nd individual county championship.
As much time as I spend trying to better my golf game, academics remain a priority. After all, a student athlete is a student first. I am excited to study Finance and hope my college years at your university help me grow as a student, a golfer and a man.
